Since 1995, our mission has been simple - to help people play better golf. In pursuit of that mission, we have become the recognized leader in golf instruction. But after 20+ years, we knew it was time to make a few changes.
The First GOLFTEC
Opened in 1995 under the name Driving Obsession, the first GOLFTEC Coach was hired to operate the first location in Denver. Today, that first coach, PGA Professional Joe Assell, is GOLFTEC’s CEO.
Proprietary TEchnology
GOLFTEC’s original coaching software was officially patented in 2002. Over 20 years in development, our proprietary software and technology has continued to improve, providing an unmatched toolkit for GOLFTEC Certified Personal Coaches.
One Coach, Two COaches...
By 2005, GOLFTEC employed 200 Coaches across 38 total locations. Steady growth bucked industry trends through the late 2000s by helping people play better golf.

Today, GOLFTEC is the world leader in golf instruction, with 200 locations across five countries and growing. We employ more than 600 Coaches and more PGA of America Professionals than any other US company.

GOLFTEC is proud to announce a new, updated, modern design for our logo that has motion and includes a vibrant, fresh color palette. However, the new logo is just the beginning.
We are evolving everything about the GOLFTEC brand. This means our Training Centers, technology, website and email communications will be changing in the weeks, months and years ahead.
The refreshed logo is modern and sleek, while a new interior design creates a dynamic and holistic golf experience through an inviting and inspiring atmosphere. This environment of total golf immersion is aided by new amenities, game improvement products and services, an extensive digital experience and comfortable furniture in common areas.
All new GOLFTEC training centers will feature the new interior, including international locations, while current centers will be retrofitted over an extended, multi-year schedule.
In addition to Center design changes, GOLFTEC will implement a variety of advanced technologies in all centers and training bays within the next few years.
Improvements include advanced, state-of-the-art cameras and lighting that provide enhanced, high-resolution video for both in-bay playback during lessons and post-session online viewing. The cameras are custom-made for GOLFTEC and integrate with an updated and proprietary TECSWING motion measurement system that was used in millions of lessons to date.

The world leader in golf instruction is now committed to becoming the world leader in custom club fitting.
The initiative, which will be implemented in Training Centers throughout 2017-18, includes expanded club component offerings and a partnership with True Spec Golf, which will help GOLFTEC offer unique shaft options and fulfillment of custom orders from top OEMs such as Callaway, TaylorMade, Mizuno and Ping.
Our TECFIT custom club fitting software has also been upgraded, including enhancements that more comprehensively match different swing characteristics and ball flight data to identify the proper equipment – including diverse clubhead and shaft combinations – for each unique student.
